Optimizing Products
The Products tab is where every run starts. Filter down to the products you want, select them, and hand them off to the pipeline.
Telling Optimized Products Apart
Every row shows an Optimization column with a status pill based on that product’s most recent run item:
- Optimized - the product’s last change was applied to your catalog
- Pending review - a run has previewed, failed, or skipped this product, but nothing has been applied yet
- Reverted - an applied change on this product was reverted
- No pill at all - Dropshipping Product Optimizer has never touched this product
A blank Optimization cell means “never run,” not “something’s wrong” - if your whole catalog looks blank in this column, it simply means none of the visible products have been through Dropshipping Product Optimizer yet.
Filtering Your Catalog
Narrow the product list before selecting anything:
- Optimization status - Optimized, Pending review, Reverted, or Not yet optimized
- Status - Active, Draft, or Archived
- Product type - your Shopify product type
- Vendor - useful if you dropship from multiple suppliers with different naming conventions
- Tag - target a specific collection or import batch
- Free text search - search by title or SKU
Filters combine, so you can, for example, filter to Not yet optimized products from a specific vendor to find exactly what still needs attention.
Selecting Products
Tick individual products, or use Select all on this page to grab everything currently visible. As soon as one product is selected, a selection bar appears showing how many are selected and a preview of their names, with a Clear selection option.
Seeing the Cost Before You Run
Once you’ve selected products, a banner tells you exactly what this run will cost against your plan’s quota before you click anything else:
- Within quota - shows how many of your included products remain this cycle and confirms there’s no extra charge
- Over quota with a subscription - shows how many products would go over your included quota, at your plan’s per-product overage rate, and the estimated extra cost
- Over quota with no subscription - warns you that only a limited number of products remain in your quota and asks you to choose a plan in Billing before starting the run
You’re only ever billed for products you actually approve and apply - see Plans & Billing.
Creating a Run
Click the Optimize button in the selection bar - labeled with your product count, e.g. “Optimize 3 products” - to create a run and jump straight to it on the Runs tab. A few things happen immediately:
- Your current pipeline settings (language, vertical, writing rules, brand names to keep, and so on) are snapshotted onto the run
- The run starts in a Previewing state
- The pipeline works through your products, generating a full before/after preview for each - nothing is written to your catalog during this stage
- Once every product has a preview, the run moves to Awaiting approval
Settings are frozen per run
Re-Optimizing a Product
You can select a product that’s already Optimized and include it in a new run - useful if you’ve since changed your writing rules or vertical and want fresher copy. Each run is independent: while the new run is in progress, that product’s Optimization pill moves to Pending review until you approve or the run finishes.
