Pipeline Settings

The Settings tab has three sections - Copywriting, Description layout, and Pipeline options. Everything here is saved per store, and every new run picks up whatever is saved at the moment you create it.

Settings matter more than the AI model

Your Settings have a bigger effect on the result than any AI model choice. Setting the correct language, describing your store vertical, defining your target customer, and adding clear writing rules is the single biggest lever on output quality.

Copywriting

Language

The language all generated copy - titles, descriptions, bullets, and translated variant options - is written in.

Store Vertical

A short description of what your store sells, e.g. baby and children’s products, pet supplies, car accessories. This sets the tone and product knowledge the AI writes with.

Don't skip this

The default vertical is baby and children’s products - if you sell something else and leave this unset, the AI writes copy for the wrong kind of store.

Target Customer

Who you’re writing for, e.g. budget-conscious first-time parents in the UK. This shapes tone and which benefits get emphasized. Leave it blank for a neutral retail voice.

Measurements

Controls how units appear in generated copy:

  • Keep supplier units as-is - no conversion
  • Metric first, imperial in brackets
  • Imperial first, metric in brackets

Guideline Template

A dropdown that fills the Writing Rules box below with a starting point you can edit freely: Value / everyday, Premium / considered, Technical / spec-led, or Gifting.

Writing Rules

A few short style rules the AI follows for every product - one rule per line, e.g. “No exclamation marks.” A few short rules are followed more reliably than one long brief.

Brand Names to Keep

Brands listed here are kept in your copy and forced to ALL CAPS everywhere they appear. Any brand mention not on the list is scrubbed from the title and body before the AI ever sees the text.

Leave it empty to keep every brand

An empty list keeps every brand Dropshipping Product Optimizer finds rather than stripping all of them - this field is a filter you opt into, not a requirement you opt out of.

Description Layout

By default, every description is an intro paragraph, a bulleted details section, then a materials section. You can reorder or drop sections, rename headings, or add your own fixed content.

Benefit Bullets

How many bullet points the AI is asked to write, from 0 to 10. A hard number is followed more reliably than a range - set 0 to let the AI use as many as there are real facts to support.

Body Template

Set your own layout using {{intro}}, {{bullets}}, and {{specs}} placeholders to mark exactly where each generated section goes. Leave it blank for the standard layout, or click Load standard layout to start from the built-in template and edit it from there.

Pipeline Options

Toggle individual parts of the pipeline on or off, and control AI spend:

  • Round prices to .99 (on by default) - round every variant price up to the next .99
  • Remove “Ships From” option (on by default) - drop this option from your variants
  • Remove single-value options (on by default) - drop any option that only ever has one value
  • Name unclear variant codes from product photos (on by default) - an AI vision pass that turns opaque codes like “A-3PC” into a real, readable label using your product images
  • Clean up variant labels (on by default) - translate and naturally sort option names and values
  • Optimize the URL handle (off by default) - rewrites the product URL to a short, keyword-focused slug. Shopify adds a redirect from the old URL automatically

AI Spend Controls

  • Delay between AI calls (ms) - spacing between AI calls, to stay under your AI provider’s rate limits. Defaults to 500ms
  • AI call limit per run - a run stops previewing once it hits this ceiling; everything previewed so far stays approvable. Set 0 for no limit

Start with a low call limit

Set the AI call limit to something small (e.g. 10) for your first few runs so a mistake in your writing rules can’t run up a large bill. Raise it - or set it to 0 - once you trust the output.

Saving Your Settings

Click Save settings after making changes. Settings are stored per store and are only picked up by new runs - a run already in progress or awaiting approval keeps using whatever was saved when it was created. See Optimizing Products for how settings get snapshotted onto a run.
