When you install and use Dropshipping Product Optimizer, we may collect:

Store Information: Your Shopify store URL, store name, and email address
Product Data: Titles, descriptions, images, variants, prices, tags, and metafields for the products you choose to optimize
Run Data: The optimization runs you create, their settings, and their before/after results
Settings Data: Your configured language, store vertical, target customer, writing rules, brand names to keep, and description layout
Usage Data: How you interact with our app (pages visited, features used)

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

Provide and maintain our service
Generate optimization previews and write approved changes back to your catalog
Meter usage against your plan for billing purposes
Send you important updates and notifications
Provide customer support
Improve our app and develop new features
Ensure security and prevent fraud

AI Processing

To generate copy, product text is sent to Dropshipping Product Optimizer’s configured AI provider for processing. Only the product data needed to write a preview - existing title, description, specs, and images relevant to that call - is sent; your store credentials and payment details are never included. The AI provider used is configured per deployment, not chosen by individual merchants.

Data Storage and Security

Run data, including before/after product snapshots, is stored in Dropshipping Product Optimizer’s database to power previews, diffs, and per-product rollback. We implement appropriate security measures including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
Secure authentication and authorization via Shopify session tokens
Encrypted storage of any per-store credentials
Compliance with Shopify’s security requirements

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

Shopify: As our platform provider, in accordance with their terms of service
Our AI provider: To generate optimized product copy, as described above
Service Providers: Trusted partners who assist in operating our app (with strict confidentiality agreements)
Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

Billing

All billing is handled entirely by Shopify’s secure billing system. Dropshipping Product Optimizer never sees or stores your payment details.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request deletion of your data

Withdraw consent for data processing

Dropshipping Product Optimizer honors Shopify’s mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction, so a merchant’s data-protection obligations to their own customers are respected end to end.

Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our services. Run history is retained so you can review past changes and revert applied products. If you uninstall the app, your session data is cleaned up, and your product catalog itself is untouched - anything already applied stays exactly as it was written.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
